Paris Hilton Parties while her house is Robbed

Celebrity heiress Paris Hilton's had her bedroom ransacked and $2million of jewellery stolen in a burglary at her Los Angeles mansion on Friday.

Police said a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves who forced open the front door and made off with Paris' belongings. The burglary was reported by a security guard at Paris' gated Los Angeles community.

Police did not release the value of the stolen items, but reports suggest the stolen jewellery was worth at least $2million.

Paris, 27, a member of the family that founded the Hilton Hotel chain, is a fixture of the Hollywood social scene. She starred in reality television show The Simple Life and has pursued a career as an actress and singer.

Hilton recently told Esquire magazine about her home: 'The best thing I've ever bought with money is my house. Having a nightclub in your house really helps for having a party.'

The socialite was not at home during the early morning burglary, said Richard French, spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department. Instead she had spent Thursday night at her friend Christina Aguilera's 28th birthday party.

Last month Paris split from Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden. The pair ended their 10-month relationship after the heiress was spotted getting cosy with ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos in Miami.

The couple had started dating in February after spending more time together while visiting her best friend - and Simple Life co-star - Nicole Richie.

Nicole, daughter of singer Lionel Richie, has an 11-month-old daughter Harlow with Benji's twin brother Joel.

Paris and Benji's relationship started just weeks after he ended his engagement to Australian singer/actress Sophie Monk.

The split came just as sources were predicting the pair would get engaged. (dailymail)
